Session 3: Finding Common Ground and ways of advocating for change
• Using research to find areas of common ground with your local politician
• Developing SMART asks for your local authorities that increase your likelihood of success
• Examples of SMART asks around key topics that might be useful such as developing better internal processes, a formal partnership, or attending your events, etc.
• How best to demonstrate your community mandate in political engagement
• Opportunities for political engagement and how to make the most of them: i.e. formal meetings, events, inviting them to your space, etc.
