Many organisations are now updating and creating environmental sustainability or Green job roles to support the development and delivery of their sustainability activity and ambitions.  As organisations align all activity with a sustainable ethos (and many with net zero targets) the challenges of matching the right skills and resources with objectives and targets can be significant.

At this Fit for the Future discussion group you will have the chance to share challenges, learnings, initiatives, progress, opportunities, resources and questions with other members in this key area.

We are delighted that the session will start with a presentation from Rebecca Turner (Careers Pathway Manager at the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).  Rebecca will provide an overview of the Green Careers Hub; a platform to access resources and careers information that relate to current and future skills, knowledge and experience requirements.  The Hub has been built and resourced by IEMA (Fit for the Future partner) to showcase and inspire green careers, jobs and skills in the workplace.  Alongside lots of other content and information, the Hub includes:

Job Profiles.  Providing example overviews of different roles, giving ideas on day-to-day tasks and skills required.  Roles ranging from Sustainability Manager to Carbon Accountant to Heat Pump Installer.  IEMA will continue to regularly update this list.

Careers Events.  Every month IEMA hosts a Green Careers Hub event on a different theme relating to green skills and green jobs.  Additional relevant events from IEMA partners will also be listed on this page

We will then open up for questions and wider group discussion and sharing.

Any member is welcome to attend, regardless of previous experience or knowledge on this topic.  The discussion group will be of benefit to all network members, whatever your size and scope of operations/activity.
