Our Special Interest Groups are an opportunity to share learning, progress, challenges and questions with other members across the network who are on the same journey.

Our Waste and Circular Economy Special Interest Group meeting brings members together to discuss a range of issues relating to waste and resource management, as we aim for our organisations to embrace a circular economy. Areas for discussion include (and are not limited to):

· Reduction and elimination of single-use plastics

· Hard-to-treat waste

· Zero waste to landfill ambitions

· Waste and behaviour change

· Waste contracts and contractors

· Waste in the supply chain

· Alternative materials

· Waste and net zero

· Government strategy/standards/consultations

This meeting on the 28th April will start with a focus on hard to treat waste including dog waste, coffee cups, coffee grounds, milk, litter and fly tipping challenges. Camilla Timms, National Trust (National Specialist - Sustainable Resources Adviser) will start the discussion by providing an overview of the issues she has faced in this area, solutions applied and further work to be done.

Any member is welcome to attend, regardless of previous experience or knowledge on this topic.

The agenda will be set by the group, and the meeting will be hosted virtually. This is strictly for members only, please register here.
