The Climate Resilience in the Cultural Sector Conference (6th March) welcomed over 200 delegates to the British Library to discuss how cultural sector organisations can become more resilient to climate-based challenges.
The conference was developed in partnership by the National Museum Directors’ Council, Fit for the Future Network, Association of Leading Visitor Attractions, the V&A, the Cultural Sector FM Hub and hosts the British Library. The conference provided practical strategies, actions and resources to support cultural organisations to prepare – through resilience and adaptation – for the challenges of a changing climate.
The day began with the Met Office providing an overview of climate predictions before moving onto panel discussions, case study presentations and afternoon breakout sessions. Speakers demonstrating how to understand and predict where climate risks may occur and where increased resilience can protect organisations, operations, people and visitors. It was great to see so many Fit for the Future members both presenting and attending.
An important outcome of the conference was to ensure that collaboration continues in this critical area. You can find out more and book your free place at the Climate Resilience in the Cultural Sector Conference: Next Steps Online Workshop (Thurs 18th June, 10:30 – 12:00) here.
