Tom Crame (Head of Global Workplace) and Isabella Schiavo (Programme Coordinator for Global Security and Workplace) provided an overview of Amnesty’s new sustainability strategy, including:

·           •  Their approved Sustainability Strategy supporting their ambition to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

·     •  The development and approval process including consultation with Element 4 (an external consultant), the wider Amnesty Movement, as well as the role of their internal Sustainability Committee.

·         • The internal communications work on-going to bridge knowledge gaps and encourage a new environmentally conscious culture within the organisation and align the Movement with the same goal.

·           • The challenges Amnesty expect to face whilst ensuring they can continue to fulfil their human rights objectives.

An interesting focus of the session was on What does sustainability mean to you? with Amnesty leading a discussion on Holistic Sustainability (looking at a broad range of issues, challenges and opportunities that can be included in an organisations sustainability strategy).  Many thanks to everyone who attended and joined in the discussion, sharing their experiences and approaches.
