With many organisations focusing on understanding and reducing a wide range of environmental impacts, it is often challenging to develop and co-ordinate policy, strategy and action. The Fit for the Future network is continuing to support members in this key area through the Sustainability Strategy Series, providing members with the opportunity to share ambitions, challenges, solutions, resources, progress and lessons learnt.
On the 29th Feb, Sue Penlington (Sustainability Manager at Holkham Estate) provided an overview of Holkham Estate’s roadmap to becoming carbon negative by 2040, including key areas of Holkham Estate’s sustainability strategy, such as
- Holkham Estate’s sustainability ambitions, goals and targets
- Holkham Estate’s carbon negative journey
- Waste reduction goal and associated strategy/initiatives
- Staff engagement & training
- Lessons learnt along the way
Sue provided plenty of inspiration with the wide range of activity and engagement being delivered and developed.
