This webinar from John Edwards will take members through how we can sensitively and effectively implement energy efficiency measures into heritage and traditional buildings. John will use his extensive experience and practical examples to shine a light on a challenging topic as we look towards a net zero future.

About John Edwards

John has over thirty years’ in construction & property, from environmental monitoring & detailed building pathological investigations, to the development, management & supervision of major works & projects, to estate, facilities & operational management. He first undertook non-destructive surveying techniques & environmental monitoring of buildings in 1981 & has since worked on many different types of buildings ranging from the very modern to Castles & Cathedrals as well as domestic scaled buildings in the UK & beyond. Experience in energy management began in the 1980’s which included installation of one of the UK’s first CHP’s. As Assistant Director at Cadw, he led the greening of the Welsh Governments historic estate of 129 historic monuments, which includes World Heritage Sites at five locations, with an array of energy efficiency measures as well as leading on an exemplar energy efficiency research project into the retrofit of traditional buildings.
