Our virtual discussion groups provide an opportunity to share challenges, approaches, lessons learnt, opportunities, progress, questions and resources/tools used.  Our Sustainable Travel Discussion Group brings members together to discuss and share their work in this key area, aligning operational and business travel requirements with sustainability ambitions and targets.

Areas for discussion include (and are not limited to):

·       What does a good sustainable travel policy look like?

·       How do we introduce sustainable travel policies, prioritise and set targets?

·       Understanding your travel baseline

·       How to develop and implement an impactful sustainable travel strategy and action plan.  How to align operational and business travel requirements with sustainability ambitions and targets.

·       Sustainable travel measures (including behaviour change)

·       Staff and visitor sustainable travel plans, including engagement (communications and incentives)

·       Working with public travel providers

·       Electric vehicle fleet vehicles

·       Electric vehicle charging points for staff and/or visitors

·       Should you (and how could you) measure and reduce international travel e.g. flying?

·       Monitoring and reporting (collecting and collating data from multiple sites).  What travel emissions are your responsibility?

·       The viability of using travel software for recording and reporting. What software is appropriate for my organisation?  What software is practical, beneficial and affordable?

·       Travel management and net zero

·       Benchmarking – how is everyone else getting on?

Once you have registered, we will be in touch to identify any specific topics you would like the group to focus on.  Where appropriate we will identify a suitable guest speaker.

Any member is welcome to attend, regardless of previous experience or knowledge on this topic.  The workshop will be of benefit to all network members, whatever your size and scope of operations/activity.  From organisations just starting off to those already delivering travel policy and strategy there will be lots to share and collaborate on, from identifying collective challenges to learning from other approaches.
