Improving energy efficiency in your buildings can often seem quite overwhelming, with many organisations trying to identify which energy efficiency measures will be:

·       Impactful with regards to energy/carbon/money saved.

·       Appropriate for the building type (s) and usage.

·       Affordable with regards to the capital required to implement.

·       Cost-effective with regards to money (energy) saved versus money invested in materials, appliances and/or behavioural change.

As organisations develop energy efficiency strategies (often applying for funding to support the delivery of higher cost measures), key questions are often asked:

·       How can we start to save energy (and money) as soon as possible?

·       What are the low/no cost measures that an organisation can also implement?

·       What are the energy efficiency quick wins?

At this session you will hear from Russell Layberry of Pilio a company born out of Oxford University that has been working for 20 years helping organisations in the charity sector with energy and carbon reduction.  Russell will provide an overview of energy efficiency quick wins, including:

·       Best practices for managing gas and heating systems to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.

·       Insights into electricity consumption patterns and strategies for reducing usage and costs.

·       The role of building fabric in energy efficiency and how to identify and address areas for improvement, with a focus on lower cost measures.

·       Strategies for optimising ventilation to enhance indoor air quality while minimising energy consumption.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and take part in discussion throughout.

Russell previously presented at the Fit for the Future webinar: Achieving Energy Efficiency in your Buildings, 25th June 2024 (recording available in your member’s area).  Please note that this webinar will differ in that it will focus specifically on low/no cost energy efficiency measures, the quick wins!
