Gloucester Cathedral Solar Spires

Gloucester Cathedral Solar Spires

On the 23rd February members from a variety of organisations made it to Gloucester Cathedral for a site visit of their solar panel installation.

James Sheehan (Heat Advisor for the Diocese of Peterborough) and Andrew More (Senior Building Surveyor for Historic England) delivered presentations on the principles and practices of heating historic buildings such as Churches:

James Sheehan – Gloucester Cathedral Workshop 23.02.17

Historic England – Andrew Moore – Gloucester Cathedral

Delegates were then given the chance to climb to the top of the spire to get a view of the solar panel array on the roof of the Cathedral, with an added spectacular view of the city.
