Smart Energy Marketplace – tech of the future
Energy technologies of the future on display at Smart Energy Marketplace in Exeter on 28 March
The energy technologies of the future will be on display at Smart Energy Marketplace at Sandy Park in Exeter on 28 March. Major international companies and key policy makers will join local businesses to showcase how new technologies including electric cars, battery storage and renewable energy are revolutionising how we generate and use energy.
Traditional big power stations are rapidly being replaced by a decentralised grid powered by local renewable generation, energy storage and smart technologies that match up supply and demand – a shift often referred to as the ‘internet of electricity’. Smart Energy Marketplace features over 50 exhibitors at the cutting edge of these new technologies – from Mitsubishi’s latest electric cars to local renewables and storage experts Sungift Energy.
An extensive programme of talks at the event will provide introductions to how local businesses, landowners and communities can take advantage of new energy technologies to win customers, generate revenues and cut bills. There will be opportunities to test drive electric cars and see the latest renewable energy and battery storage products on offer.
Alongside the exhibition a major national conference will hear about the latest developments in smart energy from the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, National Grid and leading businesses such as Siemens.
Rachel Hayes, event director, said “Smart Energy Marketplace is a unique opportunity to learn about how the new technologies are shaking up how we generate and use energy – on one day under one roof. We are delighted such an impressive array of international companies will be exhibiting here in Exeter alongside some fantastic local businesses.”
